Deal Box launches a 5 million blockchain and Web 3 venture fund

According to a news statement issued on January 18, Deal Box, a capital markets advice and token issuing platform based in the United States, has announced a new $125 million venture capital arm dedicated to blockchain and Web 3.0 firms. Deal Box Ventures will invest in firms in the emerging growth, real estate, fintech, funtech, and social impact sectors. Thomas Carter, founder and chairman of Deal Box, commented on today’s development:

“Deal Box Ventures is a significant step forward in our drive to invest in the most promising and revolutionary blockchain firms, giving them the tools and finance environment they require to succeed by simplifying and rethinking traditional financing processes.”

Deal Box has completed investments in Total Network Services, Rypplzz, and Forward-Edge AI as part of its initial Web 3.0 investments. Rypplzz connects digital and real things for location-based experiences via blockchain. Total Network Services claims to have developed a blockchain UCID (Universal Communication Identifier) to increase supply chain security, while Forward-Edge AI promises to employ the namesake technology to try to better the human condition.

Despite the continued weakness of the market, blockchain venture capital funding in 2022 exceeded that in 2021. During the year, the industry raised $36.1 billion, compared to $30.3 billion in 2021.

Deal Box specialises in offering startup entrepreneurs legal, accounting, and capitalization table advice prior to opening its venture arm. One area of emphasis is digital securities, in which companies get access to investor capital through the issue of tokenized bonds or shares. The firm, which was founded in 2005, claims to have over 500 clients.
